Your donations will go directly to monthly commissary for IWOC-NYC’s inside members, as well as needed emergency support for non-member comrades behind the wall.
The prison industrial complex profits off of slave labor, paying incarcerated people wages that are an insult when they pay them at all, only to gauge prices for basics such as toiletries and edible food, despite having no income. This extreme & blatant form of exploitation serves to strengthen racialized wealth inequalities, allowing for the further targeting of oppressed communities for enslavement in a vicious cycle that those of us on the outside need to do our part to disrupt.
We currently send a monthly survival fund to several inside comrades for their commisary. If you are interested in supporting an individual’s commissary fund in full, please consider signing up for monthly recurring donations.
A small portion of the funds raised may also be used for logistical expenses such as postage and printing to support IWOC-NYC's work, including such projects as our KITE Newsletter and inside/outside political study group.
Most all of us are struggling to some degree or another out here monetarily, so anything you are able to contribute is definitely appreciated. Know that whatever you give will go fully & exclusively toward supporting those afforded the least under this brutal system where slavery is deemed an acceptable "punishment for crime".
